BL for messy protagonists – (not love triangle)

Learned that a common trope is the protagonist thinks about (or almost goes all the way) with someone else to forget their love interest, but they always talk themselves out of it. Looking for BL where the protagonist actually sleeps around before he gets with the love interest…it’s been hard to find because I hate reading bls with red flags or abuse but I’m also looking for a scene like Griffith x Charlotte (but he’s thinking about guts)
